If one were to turn back the clock four and a half centuries back in time, other than the great Himalayas and a few other facts of life, the political and social climate would look rather unfamiliar to those of us living today. Present Nepal was splitted into several tiny kingdoms known as Baise and Chaubise Rajyas namely 22 kingdoms in the east and 24 kingdoms on the west from the land of present Gorkha. Towards the south the British regime was ruling over the India which was a big threat to the Gorkhali patriotic as well.

In such volatile politicial circumstances Gorkha Faouj(the troop) began battle from Gorkha and succeeded to achieve the goal to construct an independent nation for which we can proud today.

We now again salute to our honorable predecessors who have become the symbol of bravery and sincerity and source of spirit and inspiration for us to move forward with a new vision. As being much associated to such exemplary glorious history because of the geographical reason we the "Gorkhalis" living in Hong Kong have been much inspired and organizing a forum by setting up "Gorkhali Association" in last 2003 with the aim of bringing togeher all the resident of Gorkha district who are presently living in Hong Kong.

Since it is inception, the Gorkhali Association has been involving to provide humanitarian services to those Gorkhalis in need of a helping hand both back home and here in Hong Kong. Our future objectives include promoting brotherhood, harmony and mutual co-operation amongst the Gorkhali people by providing a common platform for the members within the organization. We encourage and welcome the rest of the Gorkhalis to join the organization with their constructive and dynamic inputs for further success of the association.
